Bättre sent än aldrig – det här hände för ganska exakt två veckor sedan, då skulle nämligen Golden Pen-priset delas ut av World Association of Newspapers. Li Changqings från Kina skulle ta emot priset, men fick inte lämna landet för myndigheterna. Hans anhöriga stoppades på flygplatsen där deras pass togs ifrån dem. Hans tacktal, ”Only the Truth Can Save Us”, lästes upp av en kollega, jag har inte läst hela än men det är verkligen läsvärt! En engelsk översättning finns att hitta på WANs hemsida.
Nu till del två: DN har publicerat en översättning i en ”något förkortad version”. Jag kanske är lite paraniod, men jag kan inte hjälpa att tro att DN kännt sig tvugna att censuerera de delar av talet som bara var alltför känsliga för svenska öron. Li skriver bl.a. följande i de bortvalda delarna:

Det är nog lite känsligt att skriva något positivt om Jesus och kristna i en svensk dagstidning. Bästa att vara politisk korrekt och censurera bort det. Vem behöver en censurerande stat som Kinas när folket kan censurera sig själva? Länge leve den fria pressen plitiskt korrekta pressen!
